pretty prints
i've been on the hunt for a great print to hang above the bar for a while now. something not too cheesy but meaningful, something that i wouldn't get tired of looking at, something simple and pretty, something with a dash of color to brighten up the room. well folks, i believe i may have found that something. this fancy little number by jeremy rendina won me over today. he's a local LA artist, which gives me even more reason to support his work. we have one of his lunar calendars hanging in our room so why not sprinkle his work throughout the house. once the print arrives i'll share a picture of its new home.

{The Making of an Entryway}
Now that we're getting closer to our dream home I'm coming up with my first house projects (I know I'm totally jumping ahead of myself but can't a girl dream a little?!) One of the very first things on my list is to design the perfect entryway. It doesn't need to be super fancy, it just needs to be somewhere to take a load off. Somewhere my husband can hang up his tie and somewhere I can park my hunter boots.
I started with the basics. This cute bench from Pottery Barn seems to fit any style.
Then I developed a little something extra by adding a top element and some extra
accessories to the entryway:
Once I did that, I started looking for a little more character to make it less boxy and viola!
