Hello Home.

bits and pieces of life because my memory is so bad i'm afraid i'll never remember the most glorious details.

labor day

i don't know if i mentioned how much i've been craving water lately. perhaps these bump photos here  and here and here may have been some indicators. so to keep in the tradition of staying close to open waters throughout this pregnancy, we rented a boat with some friends to celebrate the day of labor.

we all packed some eats and drinks and jumped in the boat that i thought i could easily maneuver through the bay, luckily, my husband stepped in and took over as captain once he saw that i was struggling pulling away from the dock. (boats are very tricky to drive in case anyone was wondering.)

i'm actually glad he took over as captain since i was busy documenting the day. here are just a few of the shots from our glorious day through the newport beach marina.

27.5 weeks {beach blanket bingo}

a friend of ours had a beach blanket bingo themed birthday party over the weekend. dressing up in 60s garb was so much fun. i'm not sure what i loved more, my super  fun polka dot dress or my handsome husband in some tiny white shorts. he's such a good sport when it comes to these dress up parties. I think I can safely say that this is baby girl's first dress up party and she had a blast.

20.5 weeks

before i was pregnant i often wondered what i would end up craving. would it be strawberry ice cream? would it be nutella and angel food cake? would it be frozen yogurt? all very obvious choices, however, it turns out what i ended up craving is water. not the healthy kind that you're supposed to drink but the refreshing kind that you can dip your toes into.

sadly, we do not have a pool and even more sad is the fact that i've come to realize that i don't have any friends that own pools within a reasonable proximity, so this craving of mine has turned into a bit of an unattainable desire.

luckily, we live in southern california where the beaches are warm and close by, so off we went!

the second we got to the beach, i made a little belly hole in the sand and let out a great big sigh of relief.

i think this is her way of telling me that she's going to love the ocean as much as her mama.

{Weekend Wrap-Up}

after a crazy work week I decided to really make the most of the weekend.
mr. v and i headed to the beach for some fun in the sun. on sunday we explored the new neighborhood a bit and hit up the local farmers market and finally ended the weekend with hanging some more things up on the wall and rearranging the new house a bit. all and all this was a super productive weekend. hope you took charge of your weekend too!
